SCHOOL

•September 12, 2009 • Leave a Comment

This week i had my first day of school in two years! I made the choice, and feel i have the dedication, to go back to school. So after two years of being in the work place i decided to go to post secondary.

I received my acceptance and am enrolled at Laurentian University through the University Partnership Center program at Georgian College, and I am taking my BA in Sociology. I am very excited to be going back to school, and already I feel like a student again. Already I am feeling the pressure of note taking and the amount of reading, but I am still adjusting and feel i can become comfortable with balancing my course load. After all it has only been the first week of school.

Alexisonfire
Anti-Flag
Attack Attack
Bad Religion
Big D and the Kids Table
Flogging Molly
Less Than Jake
NOFX
Senses Fail
Silverstein
Staylefish
Streetlight Manifesto
The A.K.A.s
The Devil Wears Prada
The Flatliners
Westbound Train

All of them were amazing. I had a great day as always, and i cant wait to go next to the Toronto show next year.

nintendo-dsi

I recently purchased a Nintendo DSi. I decided on the matte black over the blue. Its a lot of fun to play. I have always been a Nintendo Gamer, but this is my first purchase of a system since my Wii.

This is my first gaming system with touch capability. I like the camera a lot, and its fun to tweak my pictures. I also like the fact that i can download DSiWare straight onto my system. I have Mario Party DS, Pokemon Pearl. I have already purchased a few things off of the DSiWare downloads, Mario VS Donkey Kong Mini’s March Again, and the DSi Web Browser.

I cant wait for a few things to be released like flip note studio, Pop Plus: Solo, and the ability to use facebook. Im pretty excited to see what Nintendo has to come out with next for the DSi.

pbl 072So I made the jump to buy a new marker, and I decided to go with an invert mini. I wasn’t disappointed its small, compact, and light weight. Not to mention it fires like none other. This little gun is perfect for me. I also got an aftermarket Proto barrel.

Recently I’ve gotten a membership to one of the local woods ball fields so I can play for free, but there paint prices are out of control even with the member discount. but with two other fields in my area with better prices for paint I’ve been going to the other fields. Soon though within a few weeks the woods ball field i am a member at will be opening an Xball field and they have special prices for paint. So i will be able to play a lot more often.

pbl 067

So its been a while since my last post, but this one is about paintball. Before i went away on my vacation i bid and won a new hopper on ebay. it’s a View Loader Evolution II I was waiting for about 3 weeks and it still hadn’t arrived. contacted the seller and he assured me that it had been shipped, so i waited longer. about a month and a half and it finally showed up last week.

Its significantly faster than my other hopper, and its more quiet as well. I just hope that even though it is used, it will last me a long time.

images1This morning I woke up to the doorbell, and when i answered the door it was a Purolator delivery man. He handed me a big white box. when i brougt it inside and opened it up i was surprised to see that it was my Xbox 360 that i shipped. So i hooked up the system, plugged in my Hard Drive, and Network adapter, turned it on, and updated the software.

Now im back on xbox live, and able to game it up again. I was really happy with how quickly the xbox support was. I received a reply quickly, and even though i was sent a refurbished xbox 360, the hole process of replacing my xbox took just over a week.

I was surprised to wake up this morning with a box on my porch. and when i picked it up i was even more surprised to feel that it seemed empty. when i opened the box up though I realised it was shipped for my Xbox. so i took everything off my xbox (hard drives and faceplates cant be shipped) and packaged it up in the box, taped it back up, and replaced the shipping label on the outside of the box. and shipped it off to Purolator.

Now I’m left to wonder how long it will be before i receive my repaired xbox 360.

The Freak

barrels0sdMy new barrel for my marker came in the mail today. Well a piece of it that is. A few weeks ago I ordered a two piece barrel system with an aluminium insert. Its called The Freak. So about two weeks ago i received the black barrel back, and the silver barrel tip. So what came in the mail today was the aluminium insert. Completing my Freak barrel.

Now what makes the Freak unique is the inserts themselves. They slide into the barrel back, and each insert has a different calibre size. Paintballs shrink and warp depending on weather conditions. The standard paintball calibre is .68, and with the freak you can choose which size calibre insert you which to play with, to adapt your game play. The insert I ordered that came in the mail today was .69. I ordered that size because the bore size in my stock barrel is larger. I’m hoping that the insert will be able to boost my game a bit.

Pack of pods

Woken up by the doorbell this morning, my new pod pack came in the mail. I ordered it off eBay for about $20.00 shipped with in a week. Its black in colour, with urban camo as a design. its a 5+4 pod pack. This means that its able to hold five pods with velcro restraints and four that slide in and out easily.

Not really any issues except that it wasn’t the pod pack that I had won, not even the same brand. The brand that i had bid on was Empire(which i was hoping to receive). But i received an Invert pod pack. Also remember how i said it was a 5+4 pod pack. I bid on a 4+5 so the pack is actually bigger than i hoped.

But although its not the one i wanted Im still happy i have one, and it looks pretty nice too. I only have two pods at the moment, so ill need to buy a few more. Still, Im excited that i have one now though.
